Use case — Coming Soon Page
Coming Soon Page Builder with Email Signup & Referrals
A free hosted coming soon page with email capture and a top-5 referral leaderboard — no website, no code, no framework. Share the link and you are live.
A coming soon page is a standalone landing page that collects email signups before your product launches, usually with a referral mechanic to grow the list. LaunchList hosts a free page for every waitlist at getlaunchlist.com/pages/your-slug — you customize headline, subtitle, logo, colors, SEO title and description in the dashboard, and the page ships with a signup form, top-5 referral leaderboard, and live signup count built in.
Why founders run a Coming Soon Page
The problems a Coming Soon Page is built to solve
- ! You need a landing page tomorrow but do not have a website, a designer, or a CMS set up — every hour spent on Webflow is an hour not spent talking to users.
- ! Generic "parked domain" pages from registrars capture zero emails and have no referral mechanic — a wasted first impression.
- ! Carrd gets you online but the referral leaderboard, spam protection, and signup-count social proof still take glue code to wire up.
- ! Without a referral loop on the page, every signup costs you ad money — there is no compounding.
Anatomy of a Coming Soon Page
What a Coming Soon Page actually looks like
Pre-launch holding page with referrals
Your product is 8 weeks from launch. Spin up a hosted coming-soon page, turn on the leaderboard, and share the getlaunchlist.com/pages link — referrals compound the list while you finish the build.
Standalone landing page (no website)
No Webflow, no Framer, no Next.js — LaunchList hosts the whole page. Ideal for solo founders going from an idea to a signup list in one sitting.
Leaderboard as social proof
Turn on the top-5 referrers leaderboard and the live signup count ("Join 1,243 others on the waitlist"). Signups see both on the page and on the thank-you page — the two mechanics that drive the second share.
Embed on an existing site later
When your marketing site ships, drop the LaunchList embed widget on it and keep the same waitlist — the hosted page stays as a backup share link.
Multi-product teaser
Running a studio or portfolio? Spin up one waitlist per product and track each list, referral loop, and conversion rate side by side from the same dashboard.
Paid-ads-friendly page
Keep search-engine indexing off while you run paid traffic — the hosted page defaults to noindex so your ad clicks do not pollute Google quality signals before launch.
Features for this use case
LaunchList features that move the needle for a Coming Soon Page
Free hosted page — no code
Every LaunchList waitlist gets a hosted landing page at getlaunchlist.com/pages/your-slug. Configure headline, subtitle, logo, colors, and SEO in the dashboard; the page is served over HTTPS with no setup.
Top-5 referral leaderboard
Toggle the leaderboard on and the page shows the top 5 referrers in real time. It is the single most effective mechanic for compounding a coming-soon list past the first share.
Live signup counter
Optional "Join X others on the waitlist" counter turns signups into social proof the moment the list has enough numbers to matter.
SEO title, description, and indexing toggle
Full control over the meta title and description; flip indexing on when you are ready for Google, or leave it off while you run paid traffic.
Disposable-email and spam filter
Public coming-soon pages get scraped fast. LaunchList blocks disposable emails, VPN signups, and IP-level abuse at capture without any configuration.
Built-in analytics
See signups, referral shares, top referrers, browser/location breakdowns, and UTM attribution without wiring GA — it is in the dashboard.

FAQ
Questions about running a Coming Soon Page
Do I need a website to run a coming soon page? ▾
No. Every LaunchList waitlist comes with a free hosted landing page at getlaunchlist.com/pages/your-slug. You configure the page in the dashboard and it is live — no website, CMS, or code required.
Can I use my own domain for the hosted page? ▾
Not on the hosted page itself — the URL is getlaunchlist.com/pages/your-slug. If you need a custom-domain experience, embed the LaunchList widget into your own site on Webflow, Framer, Carrd, Squarespace, WordPress, or any stack, and point your domain at that site instead.
How is this different from Carrd or Launchrock? ▾
Carrd is a generic landing-page builder — no referral leaderboard or spam protection built in. Launchrock is closer, but its referral mechanic is paywalled. LaunchList bundles the hosted page, referral leaderboard, live signup count, and spam filtering in one flow with a free tier up to 100 signups.
Does the page show a countdown timer to launch? ▾
The hosted page does not include a built-in countdown timer. The display elements shipped today are the headline, subtitle, logo, signup form, signup count, top-5 leaderboard, and brand colors. For a countdown, embed the LaunchList widget on your own site and add a countdown component alongside it.
What happens when I actually launch? ▾
You can disable the hosted page (it returns a 404), swap your site to the production product, and export your waitlist to CSV or XLSX to kick off your launch-day email from your own email tool. Referral attribution stays in the dashboard as a permanent customer-acquisition record.
Is there a free tier? ▾
Yes. The free plan covers up to 100 signups, the hosted page, brand colors, referral leaderboard, and live signup count. Upgrade only when you outgrow 100 signups or want to hide the LaunchList branding.
